Creating your Video Audition

Please try to include everything into a single video if possible.

1. Introduction

   • State your name and age.

   • Then tell us about any experience you may have whether it is a High School color guard, Drum Corps, Independent Winter Guard, Performance Group, Dance Team, etc.

2. You only need to record yourself from the front for your audition video.

3. Instructions for your combo videos are below. The order of the video should be Introduction, Dance Combo, Flag Combo. If you are doing weapon you will then include those combos. Remember, only dance and flag are required, rifle and sabre are optional and you do not have to do both weapons.

Combo videos

• Learn and perform the dance combo and flag combo from this Google Drive folder. At the end of the dance combo, you are required to perform at least 1 set of 16 of choreography of your choice. This should demonstrate your flexibility, technique, and training. Be sure to include any gymnastics, tricks, or other impressive skills you can do in that section such as ground choreography, leaps, turns, and highlight you ability to perform.

• If you choose to audition on weapon, you must perform a 1 minute piece to any song of your choice. This can be choreography that you’ve done in a show or learned elsewhere. It should include work on both hands, demonstrate a variety of tosses, and your ability to work form multiple places on the equipment. Be sure to include any tricks you can do as well. Each weapon should be a separate 1 minute audition piece.
